The OIR Scottish Country Dance Group meets for the first class of the 2025/2026 session on Wednesday September 24th. Classes will run weekly until early 4th December 2026.
Each afternoon’s programme consists of six or seven dances, music being sourced from the CDs of the best-known Scottish Country Dance bands. Dances are usually walked first, to ensure dancers are familiar with the formations used. Newcomers (ladies and gentlemen) will be made very welcome and you don’t have to bring a partner. Country dancing is a great way to make new friends and to maintain fitness.
Soft, flat shoes are required or, better still, country dance shoes. Our hall has a good floor surface and is well ventilated.
