- Election/Re-election of committee members*
- Names and addresses of those wishing to stand for election to the committee together with the names and addresses of their proposer and seconder should be submitted to the Office BEFORE 12 noon on THURSDAY 11th APRIL 2024. This can be done via letter to the office or an email to: office@oirayr.org.uk. All proposed candidates attention is hereby drawn to the section concerning disqualification under part (1) of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions ) (Scotland) Act 1990 a summary of which is detailed below.

*SUMMARY REFERRED TO CONCERNING DISQUALIFICATION
It is a criminal offence under the Act for anyone to be involved in the management or control of a Scottish charity who:-
a) Has been convicted of an offence involving dishonesty.
b) Is an un-discharged bankrupt.
c) Has been removed by a court under the provisions of the 1990 Act from being concerned in the management or control of any body.
d) Is subject to a disqualification order under the Company Directors Act.1986.
e) The disqualification provisions do not apply where a conviction has been spent by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 or where the Lord Advocate had agreed to grant a waiver of disqualification.
f) The penalty for the breach of the disqualification provisions is :-
g) On summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum or to both.
h) On conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years of to a fine or both.
